Beet root side




Ingredients:
A Bunch of beet roots
1/2 medium onion finely chopped
1 chopped green chilly
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp turmeric
Pinch asafoetida (optional)
Oil for tempering
1-2 Tbsp Lemon juice
Chopped cilantro for garnishing
Salt to taste

Recipe:

1. Peel the skin of beet root, and grate the beet root.


2. To preheated oil add cumin seeds, let them splutter.
3. Add asafoetida, turmeric.
4. Add chopped onions and green chillies (optional) and saute till golden brown.
5. Add grated beet root and mix. Add salt. Cover with lid and cook for about 7-10 minutes. Add water if needed.
6. Garnish with washed and chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice. Enjoy with roti or as a side.
