Ingredients:
A Bunch of beet roots
1/2 medium onion finely chopped
1 chopped green chilly
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp turmeric
Pinch asafoetida (optional)
Oil for tempering
1-2 Tbsp Lemon juice
Chopped cilantro for garnishing
Salt to taste
Recipe:
1. Peel the skin of beet root, and grate the beet root. |
2. To preheated oil add cumin seeds, let them splutter. |
3. Add asafoetida, turmeric. |
4. Add chopped onions and green chillies (optional) and saute till golden brown. |
5. Add grated beet root and mix. Add salt. Cover with lid and cook for about 7-10 minutes. Add water if needed. |
6. Garnish with washed and chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice. Enjoy with roti or as a side. |
