2 cup cracked wheat (dalia) (May contain gluten)
1 cup precut mixed vegetables
1/2 medium sized chopped onion
1 chopped green chilly
1 tblsp ginger paste
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp red chilly powder
Salt to taste
Recipe:

1. Wash the cracked wheat (dalia) with water.
1. Wash the cracked wheat (dalia) with water.
2. Splutter cumin seeds in preheated oil.
3. Add finely chopped onions, green chillies, ginger and roast in oil.
4. Add the premixed vegetables and cook for few minutes by covering with lid.
Add washed dalia with little water.
5. Cook after covering with lid. The dalia doubles up, soaks in all the water.
6. Add more water as needed. I like it with little moisture so i do not let it completely dry. I added about 1.5 to 2 cups of water and cooked with covered lid till all the water got absorbed.
7. Enjoy as hot breakfast or evening snack. Garnish with cilantro and lime. Tastes good with yoghurt, or your favorite pickle. |
