Kadai paneer (Spicy indian cheese and bell pepper)




Ingredients:
6.5 oz or 200 gm homemade paneer (see my previous post on how to make paneer)
1 medium sized bell pepper (color of your choice)
2-3 large tomatoes finely chopped
1/2 medium onion finely chopped
2-3 Tbsp chopped ginger
2 Tbsp chopped garlic
1 tsp Cumin seeds
2-3 small cinnamon sticks
2-3 cloves
1 tsp Turmeric powder
2 heaped tsp Punjabi Garam masala
2 Tbsp crushed coriander seeds 
3-4 tbsp Oil for tempering
Salt to taste
Optional: 2-3 chopped green chillies

Recipe:
1. Splutter cumin seeds and coriander seeds in preheated oil then add chopped ginger and garlic. Stir till ginger and garlic turns light brown. Add cloves, cinnamon, and optional: chopped green chillies to make it hot.
2. Add finely chopped onion and tomato and stir. 




Add spices: Garam masala,turmeric and salt. Stir the spices and smell the aroma of 

3. Soften the tomatoes by cooking for 5 mins in closed lid.
4. Add chopped bell pepper, stir and then add paneer cubes.



5. Add 1/4 cup water, mix and then close the lid and let it simmer till the veggies get cooked 5-10 mins and spices get inside paneer.

6. Keep mixing in between to avoid paneer sticking at the bottom.
7. Enjoy, kadai paneer is ready.
