Daal tadka (Yellow lentil soup)




Ingredients:
1 cup split moong and split masoor lentil (daal) (1/2 cup each)
1tsp cumin seeds
2 big cloves of garlic
2 Tbsp clarified butter/Ghee
2-3 cups water
Salt to taste
Cilantro to garnish
Recipe:
1. Cook lentil:  Wash the lentils thoroughly. Mix lentils with 2-3 cups water in an open cookware to cook on medium/high. Mix intermittently and let it cook till its swells and softens and if the water dries up, you can add additional water enough to cook with some spare. Scoop out the foaming layer on the top.

2. On other gas, lets prepare tempering, preheat oil, splutter cumin seeds.
3. Add finely chopped garlic, turmeric, green chillies (optional) and salt to taste. 



4. Mix and add this tempering to lentils that have softened and are cooked.
5. Voila tadka daal is ready!!! Enjoy :) garnish with chopped cilantro.
